Walk 16 – Head For The Hill

DATE: Monday 22 August 2022 TIME: 10:00 Your mission on this walk, should you choose to accept it, is conquering the one and only Butser Hill, the highest point along the South Downs Way. Be prepared for a steep ascent and descent climbing the lovely slopes of the hill not seen from the A3. Most of the walk is on good footpaths through some less frequented parts of this area.

DATE: Monday 22 August 2022 TIME: 10.00 A walk in the footsteps of famous local resident and poet, Edward Thomas, led by Jeremy Mitchell of The Edward Thomas Fellowship and accompanied by the renowned naturalist, poet and writer Matthew Oates. The route will visit local landmarks that both inspired and commemorate Thomas’ work. Along the way, Jeremy and Matthew will share readings of selected poetry and prose.
