Walk 3 - A Wassailing We Will Go

  • DATE: Sunday 22 January 2023

  • TIME: 13.00

  • START LOCATION: Petersfield Station Taxi Rank

  • DISTANCE: 3 miles

  • DURATION: 2 hours 30

Did you know Petersfield has a vibrant community garden? It started in 2013 and continues to grow organically in every sense of the word. The great thing about Community Gardens is that it is shared gardening….shared workload, shared company, shared expertise, shared produce and shared fun.

Throughout the year they are busy bees, just like those they encourage into the garden with their planting, and January is no exception. In fact, it is when their year begins, by starting the job of pruning the orchard in celebration of National Wassailing Day. However, this is no ordinary pruning ceremony as it will be accompanied by warm, mulled apple juice, other edible treats from the orchard and music from Petersfield Community Choir.

If you would like to discover where Petersfield Community Garden is and what they do, why not join us on this short walk from the centre of town. Perhaps it will enable you to visit the garden again on foot another time and become a part of this healthy, outdoor community.
