This route is one for the tortoises amongst you rather than the hares…..and the tortoises might even like to bring their walking poles. The climb up Hawkley Hanger from Priors Dean church will be slow and steady, ensuring everyone takes pleasure in reaching the top. It certainly isn’t a race. The route back contours around the beautifully wooded and shady Hanger to reach the church.

Walk Leader

Part of Petersfield’s vibrant U3A, the Strollers is a friendly, long-established, very relaxed group that meets on the last Wednesday of each month for a stroll of approximately 3 to 4 miles. Walks normally finish for lunch at a local pub or café. The group walks at a nice steady pace, so no-one gets left behind, with breathers to admire the views. During winter months, when conditions can get very wet and muddy under-foot, walks may be along quiet country lanes. Members are asked to take it in turns to lead a circular walk of their choice.
