Walk 33 - Work Up A Thirst For Gilbert

DATE: Friday 7 July 2023
TIME: 08.45
START LOCATION: Petersfield Station
GRID REF: NA
DISTANCE: 8.5 miles
DURATION: Will catch 3.43 bus back to Petersfield
Walk from Petersfield to Selborne to work up a thirst for a brewery tour and tasting at the new Gilbert White Jubilee Tap Room. Our route will traverse the Hangers in a walker-friendly way…..ie not up and over Shoulder of Mutton! We will take our time winding our way to Selborne enjoying the numerous expansive views. On arrival into the village we will have time for either a leisurely picnic or lunch in Gilbert White’s cafe (if you prefer). Our tour and tasting will then start at 2pm.
The walk is free but the tour/tasting costs £5 per person
BEER NOT YOUR THING?
If beer is not your thing, you are very welcome to join this walk and not do the tour/tasting. There is a 13.13 bus back to Petersfield or you can visit Gilbert White’s House & Gardens/read a book in the churchyard…whatever takes your fancy…. while we are at the Tap Room.
WALKING NOT YOUR THING?
Non-walkers are also welcome to meet us in Selborne and just join the tour. If anyone would like to do this please email admin@petersfieldwalkingfestival.co.uk
You are also welcome to arrange your own transport as an alternative to catching the bus.
