Walk 43 - Last of the Summer Wine

  • DATE: Sunday 6 August

  • TIME:  14.00

  • START LOCATION: Hartley Wine Estate, Selborne

  • POST CODE: GU34 3BP

  • DISTANCE: 5.5 miles

  • DURATION: Finish around 18.30 (if doing wine tasting)

A picturesque, gentle, afternoon’s stroll between Wyck Hill Hanger, Selborne Common and back around to Selborne Priory via the Writer’s Way, finishing at the Hartley Wine Estate. Here we will learn about this exciting, new vineyard’s plans and see the preparations being made for their first harvest this year. With no previous wine production we will enjoy a tasting of some delicious local English wines provided by Hawkins Bros. This is a gentle and relaxing day savouring all that is beautiful and delicious in our local area.

This walk is not free. Places will only be confirmed upon payment of £25 per person. Payment details will be emailed once places are booked via Eventbrite. All money will cover costs.

  • Dogs are welcome to join this walk.
  • The wine tasting element of this walk is dependent on weather and there being enough walkers to guarantee our price for the tasting. A decision on both will be taken on Weds 1 August. If the tasting doesn’t proceed any monies received will be refunded in full. If the weather is set fine but we don’t have enough people for the tasting, the walk can still proceed. Perhaps we can do our own tasting of English wine as we pass the Selborne Arms pub!
