Walk 44 - Sunday Social Stroll

Would you like to fill that quiet downtime between 2 pm & 3 pm on a Sunday afternoon? Need encouragement to go out for a walk? Not fit but enjoy walking and would love some company along the way? Well, why not join volunteers from Hills To Harbour Community Rail Partnership for a fascinating, gentle, local walk once a month. You even get a cuppa at the end.

In keeping with the seasonal theme of this year’s festival walks, the August Social Stroll will be going on holiday to Rowlands Castle. We have planned a gentle walk around the lovely village where we will look at its history, including being on the edge of one of the ancient ‘forests’ of England.
 
We will meet at Petersfield railway station in time to catch the 13.23 train. After a mere 10 minute journey we will enjoy a short circular walk and return on the 15.12 train. We can then have our usual refreshments at the station Hub. We would ask you to buy your own tickets at an approximate cost of £4.50
 
The walk is part of a series of social strolls that are usually held on the second Sunday each month.

The Social Strollers are a wellness walking group set up by the Hills to Harbour Community Rail Partnership. The group is for people who are not hikers but enjoy going out for a stroll in the fresh air with company on a Sunday afternoon. HHCRP works with the local community to promote the use of sustainable travel. They bring the railway to the community and the community to the railway. On their website and at their tourist hub at Petersfield Railway station they have a number of walks and cycle rides that can all be enjoyed using public transport.
